Metallica izbacuje album covera; sudjeluju Neptunesi, J Balvin i Chase & Status

“Metallica Blacklist”, album s 53 pjesme, izlazi u rujnu, paralelno s Metallicinim re-izdanjem albuma “Metallica” (aka “The Black Album”) iz 1991. “Metallica Blacklist” uključivat će obrade raznih izvođača, među kojima su Mac DeMarco, Chase & Status feat. Backroad Gee, Phoebe Bridgers, SebastiAn, Rina Sawayama, Moses Sumney, IDLES, The Neptunes, St. Vincent i mnoštvo drugih koji obrađuju svoje omiljene pjesme s The Black Albuma.

St. Vincent obrađuje "Sad But True", dok "The Unforgiven" obrađuju Flatbush Zombies i Moses Sumney. 'Wherever I I May Roam' uzeli su J Balvin i The Neptunes.

Ponovno izdanje “The Black Albuma” trebalo bi biti objavljeno 10. rujna u izdanju Blackened Recordings, s deluxe boxsetom koji sadrži 2xLP, tri live LP-a, 14 CD-a i knjigu u tvrdom uvezu. Album podržava brojne dobrotvorne organizacije, uključujući dobrotvornu zakladu Metallica, All Within My Hands.

U izdanju se navodi: “'Metallica Blacklist' je mnogo više od pukog tributea, nudi nove dimenzije ploče čiji je gravitacijski potez prvi put privukao mainstream Metallici 1991. godine - i pruža nove uvide u univerzalni i bezvremenski priziv koji ga je tamo zadržao: utjecaj koji je ovih 12 pjesama imalo na razbijanje granica na obožavatelje i glazbenike svih žanrova. 53 pjesme s Blacklista pronalaze kantautore, country izvođače, elektro i hip hop artiste koji svoju ljubav prema ovim pjesmama dijele zajedno s punk rockerima, indie rockerima, metalcima...”.
